Super heroes are symbols of bravery in our culture, but they're often shown as fearless warriors who just don't quit. Author Gabby Rivera wanted to show the other side of bravery — the side of vulnerability and humanity that is in each of us. So, she invented the first queer, Latina Marvel superhero, America Chavez, to show everybody that you can be strong and soft *and* still be a superhero.
